High School Academic Information
COURSE INFORMATION
Teacher Aide is only open to 12th Grade Students.
Office Aide is only open to 12th Grade Students.
Library Assistant is only open to 12th Grade Students.
Independent Research is only open to 11th and 12th Grade Students who have rigorous courses of study.
Peer Mentor is only open to 10th, 11th and 12th Grade Students who are interested in receiving elective credit, work experience, perform acts of service, and a chance to learn responsibility.
HIGH SCHOOL PATHWAYS & ACADEMIC FOCUS AWARDS
Pathways and Academic Focus Awards encourage students to concentrate their academic efforts in specific content areas. Pathways require more extracurricular activities in a specific area than Academic Focus Awards; however, each help students identify and practice important skills and discover their interests.
PHHS Pathways
These pathways require a student to take and pass specific courses AND participate in school or nationally recognized student organization for two years (with some exceptions).
The state does not officially recognize these pathways; however, the courses and skills gained help a student in their post-high school academic endeavors.
Completion of PHHS Pathway requirements is rewarded with a certificate of completion and recognition at senior awards night and graduation (PHHS Pathway stole, refer to Fee Schedule).

Program Requirements & Rewards
Students are required to
Take and pass specific courses with a “B” average (with a few exceptions).
Complete one subject specific project.
Write a 1 1⁄2 page reflection essay.
Completion of Academic Focus requirements is rewarded with a cord (refer to Fee Schedule) to wear at graduation, an “Enhanced Diploma,” and recognition at senior awards night.

CTE Pathways
These pathways require a student to take and pass specific courses with an 80% average on state exams AND participate in a nationally recognized student organization.
Completion of CTE Pathway requirements is rewarded with a certificate of completion from the state and recognition at senior awards night and graduation (CTE Pathway stole, refer to Fee Schedule).
High School Academic Letters
The Academic Letter awarded Providence Hall High School is intended to recognize and reward those students who demonstrate and maintain academic excellence in the classroom.
Students who achieve the requirements AND fill out and turn in this application by the first Friday in April will be invited to attend an Academic Award breakfast where they be recognized for their accomplishments.
Parents/guardians and students will receive an official invitation upon verification.
